Instructions for using the 02Nail Printer Machine
Download O2Nail app
- Follow instructions in booklet provided. Go to website and download the app for specific phone type. Make sure you don’t download The global version as this is just a demo app.
- Follow instructions, set up password, login details etc
- Download patterns by going into the style store. There are over 10,000 patterns to choose from, which you can set up in your own named file galleries. Save photos and other images here.
Inserting cartridge
- Slides in on an angle. Hold and press down and slot in. Hold down button for 3 seconds and wait 1-2 minutes.
- To test printer cartridge. Connect wifi. Fold paper into stick shape put into machine where fingernail goes and press down to hold paper in place. Press print
- If paper dirty take cartridge out. Clean cartridge vertically then replace
- There is a light and a dark colour option.
Wifi
- Turn printer on
- Go to phone settings, then click on wifi. Wifi name is the 02nail printer which should come up automatically. Password is 88888888
- Connect wifi
- Notifications will tell you if there are any updates in software to download
Printer settings (THIS IA A CRITICAL INITIAL STEP)
- Go to printer settings and set printer to correct SM10 ink cartridge setting. This is essential or the ink won’t come out properly
- Set pre print gel to PP gel
- Do a print test to make sure the ink is printing properly. Fold an A4 piece of paper into a long 2cm strip and put into the machine to test, click in place. See video tutorials
TIP- If printer not printing properly the ink jets may have got blocked or smeared. Take cartridge out and use a “wet one” and clean ink jets. Push cartridge down on wet one to ensure the 3 prime colours come out – red, yellow, blue
Printing
- Go to All galleries for patterns. Can choose up to 12 patterns. Trash will cancel a pattern
- To print click middle icon at the bottom then turn wifi back on as it will have clicked off then press ok.
- Put finger inside machine and push down so people cannot move their hand. Make sure you can see the nail on the screen in the centre.
- Check position of nail. Ensure pattern sits inside nail edge. Make sure pattern is a little bit wider than the nail. Note - Arrow button changes direction of the pattern
- Or choose option to use your own photo. See picture icon from previous screen.
Reminder – you must always use #2 gel to hold the colour. You can’t print without this
Photos and new patterns
- Press “new” to download new patterns and designs
- Press “create” to create a new gallery and “+” to add new galleries
- Move photos between galleries using copy and paste
Tips
- Photo resolution must be 300DPI minimum
- For photos always use white background
INSTRUCTIONS FOR DIGITAL PRINTING WITH GEL POLISH
Optional preparation steps for longevity of nail
BASIC MANICURE (optional)
Includes shaping, filing, nail extensions if required
BASE GEL (optional)
Cure with Nailla LED for 30 sec, standard LED for 30 sec – 1 min depending on dryer or UV for 2 mins
Tip – Cover the entire nail and keep the coat thin . make sure nail is dry
COLOUR GEL (optional)
Cure with Nailla LED for 30 sec, standard LED for 30 sec – 1 min depending on dryer or UV for 3 mins. Apply 1-2 layers and cure.
Tip – This forms the background colour for the pattern. Keep the edges 0.5mm shorter than the base gel and the coat thin. make sure nail is dry
CRITICAL STEPS
STEP 1 – PRE-PRINTING COAT (#2)
Warm air dry 2-3 minutes depending on dryer. You can use a hair dryer.
Tip – It’s used to absorb the ink If you miss part of the nail the ink won’t adhere. The coat should be twice as thick as the base coat. This dries clear. Wait until the ENTIRE nail is clear.
- TIP-THIS MUST BE DRY OR THE PRINT WONT WORK. TRY NOT TO TOUCH WITH YOUR HAND AS OILS FROM YOUR HAND CAN AFFECT THE PP GEL
- TIP- IF YOU ARE NOT AN EXPERIENCED NAIL TECH DO 2 COATS TO ENSURE THE ENTIRE NAIL IS COVERED
- You can use a UV or LED dryer on the nail to ensure the whole nail is covered. This will show up areas that have been missed
NAIL MASK (OPTIONAL)
This is used to protect the skin from the ink
Tip – avoid covering any of the nail. We have these available in stick on cuticle strips of liquid nail mask
STEP 2 – PRINT
1. Choose pattern
2. Adjust size. And rotate if needed Align the top, bottom and sides with the nail
3. The left and right sides should be wider than the nail
4. Place the finger in the holder to the first knuckle. Ensure the finger is straight
5. Do not move finger while printing
TIP – IT IS ESSENTIAL NAIL DOES NOT MOVE OR MACHINE CAN’T PRINT. IF USING STICK ON NAILS ATTACH THEM TO THE NAIL STICK OR YOUR OWN NAIL WITH DOUBLE SIDED CELLOTAPE. Push down on nail with a piece of paper to ensure nail is on firmly. Try to avoid skin contact.
Tip- if using a photo. Ensure the photo is good quality as it will affect the quality and ensure the nail printable surface is a decent size.
STEP 3 – REMOVAL
After printing remove finger from machine and remove mask.
TIP- BE CAREFUL NOT TO HIT THE NAIL ON THE TOP OF THE MACHINE AS PRINT STILL WET. SLIDE NAIL OUT CAREFULLY
CLEAN THE NAIL EDGE (OPTIONAL)
Roll cotton over the bevelled edge of an orange wood, wet with cleanser. Go back and forth around the nail edge.
Tip – the #2 Coat is not waterproof, so it must be completely removed from the nail edge otherwise water will seep in easily
STEP 4 – DRY WITH WARM AIR
Use a nail dryer or hair dryer for 3-4 minutes. For darker colours up to 5-6 minutes
STEP 5 – TOP GEL
Cure with Nailla LED for 1 minute, standard LED for 1-2 mins min depending on dryer or UV for 2-5 mins. Wipe off gel can be substituted.
Tip – Cover the entire nail and seal the edges and keep the coat thin. The image must be protected inside otherwise it could damage easily.
Tip-A strengthening gel can be used for extra protection, which we have available, then cure nail again for 30 secs with LED or 3 minutes with UV Light
